These women inspired me – as they each shared their personal stories of life, success, loss, transition, following dreams and stepping into their courage. They offered nuggets of wisdom, tips on living life fully and listening to your heart. - About Jandel: Jandel leads the organization’s community relations and communications functions, stakeholder engagement, government relations, clinical research activities and community benefit investment.Dr. Allen-Davis is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and after 25 years of taking care of patients, transitioned from a physician leader to Kaiser Permanente’s Health Plan Leadership team.Her past roles at Kaiser Permanente included associate medical director of external relations for the Colorado Permanente Medical Group, regional director of patient safety, and physician chief of the Wheat Ridge Medical Offices. Dr. Allen-Davis was elected to the Colorado Permanente Medical Group Board of Directors in 1998 and chaired the board in her final year.
A graduate of Dartmouth College and Dartmouth Medical School, Dr. Allen-Davis completed her residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. Before coming to work at Kaiser Permanente, she was an assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and spent four years in the Indian Health Service in Tuba City, Ariz., during which time she also served as member and chair of the American College of Obstetrician Gynecologists’ Committee on Alaska Native and Indian Affairs.
Dr. Allen-Davis believes health care will improve when all the primary stakeholder groups — clinicians, patients, elected officials, community leaders, and employers — can collaborate effectively to put the patient at the center.

About Amy: Amy co-founded Lewis Fowler in 2002. Today, our clients benefit from her 25-plus years in the business and technology industry and her love of strategy, technology solutions, IT performance measurement and program recovery.
In her words, “I intimately care about every aspect of these connections—from problem solving and supporting our customers’ career growth to overseeing our delivery.”
Amy earned her B.S. in Computer Science from Illinois State University and has advanced studies in technology management. Prior to launching Lewis Fowler, she directed Qwest’s $100M E-Commerce Program Management Office and consulted with $3 billion Perot Systems (now Dell), helping develop their PMO practice, rebrand the firm, and implement PMOs for Fortune 500 companies. Beyond work, she invests her time in her family, fitness and service as a board member/supporter of several philanthropic organizations.

About Gail: TallGrass owner, Gail Ridings, made a career and lifestyle change in 1995 that proved to be a success, both professionally and personally. Following a downsizing trend that continues to be popular among fast-track executives, Gail made the move from high-profile Chicago advertising executive to spa owner in peaceful Evergreen, Colorado.
That’s how she created balance in her life and, because she believes it is a critical element in everyone’s life, she offers balance to TallGrass guests and staff.
For Gail, a balanced lifestyle is built around running a thriving spa business, becoming involved in community projects, and enjoying friends and family. Some of her very best times are spent with husband, Chuck, their dogs (Pepper, Lilly and Nutmeg), their cats (Jake and Leo), and foxtrotter horses (Duke, Jet and Jack Flash), enjoying the beautiful Rocky Mountain landscape on horseback, hiking trails — and the golf course, too!

About Meg: Meg is charged with strengthening the MWH brand by increasing the awareness of the MWH organization globally, while improving employee and customer loyalty.
VanderLaan has a passion for taking the complex subjects that often accompany MWH projects and effectively communicating those topics in a way that is relatable, accessible and easily understood for people in communities around the world. Holding true to the corporate mission of Building a Better World, she recognizes that the little things can make a big difference, and as MWH continues to drive the wet infrastructure sector, she champions the MWH story through global communications efforts.
Prior to joining MWH in 2009, VanderLaan spent 13 years with Gates Corporation, a world leader in industrial and automotive solutions, ultimately serving as the vice president of corporate communications and public affairs. In 2006 she became a member of the board of directors for Gates Winhere, a joint venture based in Yantai, China. She also worked in marketing for a dot-com start-up and managed marketing programs in the health insurance industry.
Outside of the office, VanderLaan is active in several organizations, including serving on the management group of the Downtown Denver Partnership, Denver Civic Ventures board of directors and the Downtown Denver Events board of directors. Recently, she was named to the Board of Trustees for Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania.
In her spare time, she enjoys skiing mountain biking and travelling. VanderLaan has a bachelor’s in communication arts with a proficiency certificate in German from Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania. She currently lives in Highlands Ranch with her husband John.
